The ICA 61 system is a PLC based controller for the measurement and control of Controlled Atmosphere fruit or vegetable storage rooms. It is an extremely flexible system that is configured to meet the needs of each application and can have a capacity from 4 to 56 rooms. The system is independent of any proprietary CA machinery and can be used with any manufacture or type of carbon dioxide and oxygen control equipment. It is designed to be used with a range of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide analysers and it is particularly suited to the ICA 652 analyser. The sampling system comprises a high quality pump, vacuum gauge and filter/separator. The PLC controls the room sampling sequence by selecting the appropriate sampling solenoid valves. The system comes with PC software that can connect to the system and be used to display all the readings and adjust the settings as required. This software is designed to be simple to use by the busy operator who can check the status of all his rooms in a very short time. This PC can also be remotely monitored through a network or broadband connection. A separate display and control panel can be fitted to locally monitor and adjust the settings. The control for room ventilation, nitrogen purge and CO2 scrubbing is time proportional which provides accurate control of the gas in each room. Control of CO2 addition is also possible for specialist applications including Berry storage. The analyser is regularly and automatically checked for correct operation and calibration and can be automatically adjusted to correct for analyser drift. Temperature can be measured from up to 6 probes per room with the high accuracy ICA 28 temperature probes. The maximum number of probes is 192 and they can be individually assigned to a room as required. Each room (to a maximum of 15) can optionally have temperature control from a selected single or multiple probes. Separate alarm output relays are available for temperature and gas alarms and each room can be set to the required alarm setting. The modular design of both the hardware and software makes it possible to produce variations to the base system to meet individual needs. The version ICA66 is an upgrade for existing “OXYSTAT” systems and the version ICA615 is designed for use in CA ships. For more operational details please ask for a copy of the manual. |
