Fresh produce is constantly being shipped from producing to consuming countries and substantial fleets of refrigerated ships are used in this trade.

For some products on some routes it has been proved that the addition of Controlled Atmosphere can considerable improve the marketable quality of the received produce. This has been used regularly for apples shipped from New Zealand to Europe and the US and Bananas from the tropics to N.Europe.

The ICA615 control system is designed to monitor and control the CA atmospheres in the refrigerated cargo spaces where large nitrogen generators are used to maintain the required CA conditions.

The ICA615 is based on the well known ICA61 land based CA control system with changes in both hardware and software to meet the needs of this application.
