Fresh produce is constantly being shipped from producing to consuming countries and substantial fleets of refrigerated ships are used in this trade.

For some products on some routes it has been shown that the addition of Controlled Atmosphere in the ships hold can considerable improves the marketable quality of the received produce. This has been used regularly for apples shipped from New Zealand to Europe and the US and Bananas from the tropics to N.Europe.

The ICA6150 is a control system based on our ICA6000 commercial system but designed to monitor and control the CA atmospheres in the refrigerated cargo spaces where large nitrogen generators are used to maintain the required CA conditions.
